The Brazilian government is planning to select one of the five remaining fighters in its F-X combat aircraft competition and draw up a draft contract before the end of this year.
Officials close to the programme said that Brazilian Air Force (FAB) evaluators would conduct flight trials of the contenders – the Dassault Aviation Mirage 2000-5 Mk 11, Sukhoi Su-35 (NATO reporting name: ‘Flanker’), RSK MiG MiG-29 (‘Fulcrum’), Gripen International Gripen and Lockheed Martin F-16C/D during March and April.
The tight schedule is being driven by the need to make a decision before elections next year.
Fighter pilots make movies, Bomber pilots make history and Nerds make money from the sims!
