Breaking news. Fire on a British plane

I have just heard in the radio that a British plane had to make an emergency landing here in SCQ after an engine fire. No indications of the airline or plane. The plane was flying from Manchester to Tenerife, had left at 4.00 am and at 7.00 landed here. The passengers will leave in other plane in an hour. So guys….I´ll get my camara inmediately, drive to the airport and keep you informed.

depends on how badly damaged the a/c it is. If it’s just a damaged engine and pylon, a new one could b flown out with a repair team to fix it on site, or alternativly Iberia Maintenace as locals may b contracted to send a team by road to do it.

OK, I have juste returned from the airport. It was the AMM458 im flight from Tenerife to Manchester. It had left Tenerife at 4:00 local time and when it was overflying my city there was an engine failure (stopped or fire) so the G-OOOF had to make a normal emergency landing at SCQ at about 7:00 am. I have checked and no substantial damage is noticed from the perimetral road. The passengers were taken to the city (free tourism,,,,,great) to a hotel and now they are about to take off to MAN in another B757-200
