hopefully something for everyone here… 😀
excellent day out, on the ‘warbird’ front , the P51 trio was fab, as was the Harvard.. the Dr1 looked like he was on route to Old Warden to hunt down that new ‘Pup’ 😀 lots of ‘classic/vintage’ aircraft, I saw the Mew Gull fly for the first time 😮 (but no flying pics – my autofocus couldnt cope with the little white racer) and I even took a photo of a helicopter!
There were flour-bombs a la OW, and even a yellow Maggie
well done to all those involved with setting the event up and those particpating.. Neil

Glad you had good weather on Saturday. It was utterly awful at Leicester today. Virtually no flying at all this afternoon. 2km in moderate continuous rain and a cloudbase between 300 and 500 feet. The coffee and conversation, however, were excellent and the avgas stayed in the underground tank.
It is a good time to leave for Oshkosh b’gosh if the UK summer is to be like today. Back on 6 August. Take care y’all as they say in the Lone Star state.
Cheers,
Trapper 69

Very nice Neil,
Do you know if the RACo have acquired the Neiuport, great to see a Nipper again, haven’t seen one of these for years.
Septic.
Its Kermit Weeks Neiup, it went sick with a cracked cyl head durring filming, will be dismantled and packed at brieghton prior to its return to fantasy of Flight

‘Fraid not – the Nieuport is sickly so we asked if we could hang onto it for the fly-in, looks brilliant though (as does the Tripe in it’s movie paint). I believe that we’re dismantling the aircraft prior to it going home by road.
The Buchon was taxied today and looks tremendous…
It was a bit nippy on the airfield today, the weather further south had an impact too – still, enjoyed by everyone (apart from a NIMBY in the next village I’m told!).
