Very interesting info and pictures. Thanks for answering the initial question 🙂

The Avia had been based at Sandtoft I believe – moved to Breighton about this time last year – it’s privately owned by a Club member (all resident aircraft owners are Club members) and not operated by the Company.

Any pics Consul?

The Avia does now carry an overall dark green scheme plus Croatian markings. It was not hidden away on Sunday – it was out of the hangar and taxied – very photogenic. The owner confirmed to us that it is one of only two currently airworthy Worldwide the other in Italy no longer has the original engine type installed. I understood it had not been based a Leicester for some time.

I think thats based at Leicester aerodrome, not too sure though, was on their website, or a similar machine

Didn’t know that was still there. Is it a RAC machine or just a resident?

I was there on Sunday too, great pictures Steven. I thoroughly enjoyed the day.
One thing – I heard a rumour about a mystery plane in hanger 4 – supposed to be ultra rare and in Croatian markings…..Any ideas?

It’s an Avia FL3 – been at Breighton for a while now.
Nice pix Steven – couldn’t get over there myself (don’t ask!), nice to see superb weather at Breighton at last!

Lovely stuff Steven – you always seem to do better with that Hurricane shot than I manage, its so easy to blow the highlights or loose all detail in the aircraft. Going to have to try one of the lower contrast settings for it next year.
