Hi, firstly, I noticed Breighton have an event this weekend. Anybody (Daveski?) know a little more about this, what scale of event is it and what aircraft could be expected? I have been to the place twice before and both time I have been every impressed. I have never been to one of thier fly-ins/airshows before however.
Secondly, does anyone know the display times for the Lanc at Breighton on the 24th and 25th and also the display time for the Lanc over York on the 25th. Many thanks in advance for this info.

Thanks for the info davski. Sounds like a good day out, I’ll probably be there Saturday.

My guess is that they’re working their socks off with the Buchon at Breighton… if I get a thumbs-up before Saturday I’ll let you know. There’s a pilot briefing at 10 o’clock each day so I guess that any home-based flying could begin twenty or so minutes after that – visiting aircraft will be arriving from 10 onwards I should think. There’s no specific running order – as anyone who’s been to Breighton will tell you – but at some stage during the weekend, all of the serviceable home team will be flown, including the Spitfire and Hurricane (hopefully on both days).

Do you have a rough idea what time the home stuff will start flying davski, and any update on the Buchon!?

Our event this coming weekend is a fly-in, not an airshow, and participation, although reasonably known to us, can never really be confirmed as it is all provided free (or in reciprocation). The BBMF will perform flypasts on both days in the early afternoon – the airfield will be closed for half an hour each side of their flypasts during which we’ll be staging bits and pieces on the ground (a Jazz band being one of those attractions… music while you eat your butties and watch the BBMF – perfect!). If the Buchon isn’t flying by then, we will endeavour to get the panels and cowlings on so at least it looks the part. All of the fleet, including the Spitfire and Hurricane, are scheduled to fly at some point during the day – weather permitting. £6 to get in… come on over y’all!
This is Branscombe, right?
((((WRONG – That’s Breighton))))

£6 for the day sounds like a bargain! Thanks for the replies. If I can get along on Saturday then I definately shall go. The possibility of seeing a ‘109’ in the air would be worth the trip alone.

Their web site gives some more details – http://www.realaero.com/show/show.html Doesn’t give a large amount of details but does mention the 109 so we could always hope. Anyone got of an update on its progress?
Looks like the BBMF will be there some time between 2:30 and 3:30 as the airfield will be closed to visiting aircraft because of them.
I was thinking about a visit on Saturday – 2 Mustangs may have persuaded me!!!

Branscombe I believe, not sure what the event is all about and I doubt you will see the 172 there unfortunately (bet you’re sad now!!)

There will be a variety of aircraft venturing up to Breighton from the south on Saturday and staying overnight, likely to be 2 Mustangs, 2 Harvards and a 172, possibly a Yak 11 as well. The fleet will then be off to Devon on the Sunday, what the timing of this little lot is I don’t know currently. This is all weather dependant of course.
where in Devon Yak 11 Fan? and is it public?
By: Yak 11 Fan - 19th July 2004 at 11:33
I think it would be a fair bet.
