Wasn’t expecting much to be happening this Sunday after the previous days deluge and high winds (that continued throughout the fly in) and indeed the number of visiting aircraft was limited. The Real Aeroplane Company more than made up for this with there own aircraft however. Never expected the Buchion to go up but by half three the wind was directly down the strip and we were treated to a fantastic display. Going to seem a long winter until the next one.

G-BUTX has a Warner Super Scarab 185 engine, the same engine type as fitted to Bevo Howards old aircraft in the USA.

Thanks all. Paul – not sure about the exact engine type but G-BUTX has a smoke system fitted, which may have a bearing on the cowling shape.
