Breighton September Fly In Photos

Had another great day out at Breighton today, good to see PL965 one more time before she departs for pastures new. Nice selection of vintage and GA types, and scorching hot all day – think this was the first time I haven’t been rained on at an air day this summer!

Black 6 and Stewart1a – haven’t hear who the new lucky owners are yet, guess it will soon become clear though 🙂

Had a look through the rest of the photos Davski – none of the other side of the Buchon unfortunately – (it would have been shooting into the light). Very glad Tony managed to fit displaying PL965 into his busy afternoon schedule, it was much appreciated by all. Hope the new owner can display it with such elan.

Fantastic pictures Gareth – well done (I might be emailing you later!!). Shame the Buchon isn’t photographed from the other side as it looked great with the cowlings and panels complete and fitted. It really is a case of waiting for the modification to be approved and signed off, and since the season is drawing to a close and the grass getting wetter, Tony Smith (RAC MD) has hinted that he’s comfortable with the idea of having a completed and airworthy Buchon tucked-up in the hangar until next season.
The weekends Spitfire appearance was a last minute decision – Tony had originally planned to fly over to Goodwood to pick up the Mew Gull (which had been displayed as a static) but seeing the huge crowd at Breighton, altered his itiniary slightly – much to our benefit.

Excellent stuff Gareth. That Buchon’s just aching to get into the air! Can’t wait to see it next season!

Cheers everyone, every time I see the Buchon there a bit more attached to it, according to one of Davski’s posts last week its waiting for paperwork on the brake mods so it shouldn’t be long now.

Good way to start next season? 🙂

Lovely pics Gareth. It is a pity the Buchon still isn’t flying. Is there any news on when she will join the airshow scene?

VERY nice Gareth. The 3rd shot of the Spit is superb.
