Breitling Fighters Clip Coventry Airshow

This was the second time I had seen the team perform. This clip being from the final Coventry Airshow that Air Atlantique organised.

WOW they were good. The video clip doesnt show the half of it but still pretty impressive. And on the day they were the only act to recive a huge round of applause.

The narrator says that Nigel lamb was flying the Spitfire. I was sure that on the Sunday I was there it was Ray Hanna. Positive it was him I saw clamber from the cockpit. Anybody able to confirm this for me?

Enjoy

Excellent videos!

I was a massive fan of the Breitling Fighters and really miss their riveting performances. As a tribute to the team and the pilots over the last few years i’ve been developing a Virtual Breitling Fighters using the IL-2 Sturmovick series of flight simulator. If you head over to www.virtualwarbirdart.co.uk you’ll be able to see some recent screenshots of a 3-ship practice and in the movies section some short clips of us practising a while ago. We’re currently working on getting the 4th pilot up to scratch so we can fly the full display as per the real team.
The simulator is regarded as one of the most realistic in the world available today, and i must say from ‘virtual’ experience, it’s blooming hard work flying formation aerobatics in four completely different aircraft!:D

Wow, boy do I miss the Brietlings….For me they were the greatest display team I had ever seen.

Some fantastic memories watching them, you’d pay to see them on their own!

Ashame Brietling switched to those god awful jets….Time to get a cuppa tea when they come on!
