Detailed report of the progress of renovation of the ‘Star of Switzerland’ is in next months copy of Flypast. The work has been hindered by brake problems including a fire when testing and flap corrosion. The article shows an interesting life for this plane which could have expired several times. Crew trainng is hoped to start in June.

They have also cancelled the wingwalkers as well, I wonder if the jet team are next?

A statement from SCFA, the Constellation operators, was copied from Facebook and posted in the forum in my signature. In short, Breitling has indeed terminated sponsorship, after extensive repair/maintenance work the aircraft is expected to fly again on May 1, 2018. And they’re short of more than 1 million Swiss Francs….

Hope that’s not true, sale of watches will go down!

Heard rumours Breitling will drop entire Connie and DC-3 support (plus acro-prop) alltogether.
I hope Lufthansa, Red Bull and the Berlin Dak guys hear the news early.

Sad news, no more Constellation flights this year.

Fabulous video of a fabulous plane. I used to have a model of a Constellation in TWA livery. Is there a difference between the Constellation and Super Constellation? Or are they synonymous?
