Brewster Buffalo production run?

Are there any Brewster Buffalo rebuilds going on at the moment? or being considered?

There is a mention in the Buffaloes over Singapore book of one being buried in a riverbank, which re-emerged and was re-buried in the 60s.

There is a replica/mock-up at Cradle of Aviation that they built a few years ago. I believe that the Dutch museum which acquired the remains of three Buffaloes a few years ago from Chris Prevost has contracted the guys at Cradle of Aviation to reconstruct a Buffalo from these remains. Cheers, Richard

The Aviodrome has the remains of the 3 machines in storage and has nothing to do with the reconstruction at CoA, which is being made for the Military Aviation Museum, another Dutch museum.

I found it interesting, yes. The claim that three Humus were built is simply not correct. There were a couple of Brewsters fitted with experimental wooden wings, and several with Russian M-63 engines, but they were never called “Humu”. The one preserved in the museum is the one and only Humu ever built. As for the 4-6 Humu fuselages having been built, this is the first I ever hear of them, I seriously doubt it.
I also find it amusing that they call the manufacturer Patria Aviation, actually it was of course Valtion Lentokonetehdas (VL) or State Aircraft Factory. A bit like British Aerospace Hurricane!

The US Navy Museum is also working on the cosmetic restoration of their former Finnish Air Force buffalo. Other than that, there are no publicly acknowledged Buffalo projects going on at present.

I have heard of one at The Cradle of Aviation Museum on Long Island, NY, but I am not sure whether it is to be a wooden mock-up or a “real” reproduction. Does anybody else know?
