Bristol Airport – 22-08-04

Great stuff Tony! I didn’t know you could get that close at that end. I’ve always risked stopping on the A38 when they are landing over the top and got some good shots before getting moved on! Just for any nostalgia freaks viewing, here is one of those shots, a SPANTAX DC-7….which just skimmed a double-decker bus on the A38 taken in June 1967.

Does the Royal Navy train it’s Sea Harrier pilots on that runway ?

i know its like a aircraft carrier, is there an aircraft lift at the end

nice tony, what vantage point did you attend? the perimeter road?

Definately is a roller coaster Moondance, when Im sat on the Western Apron (flying centre has now been relagated south side 🙁 ) in a prop ½ the plane disappears below the ground as well when they land on 27, got to be one of the most undulating airfields in the country, i have some great shots of the whole of the rwy coming in to land from 09 & 27, I’ll try and get them uploaded asap

Hi Guys, went down to Bristol for the morning to see what I could see

Does one go “down” to Bristol, or “up”? As far as I remember, it is on top of a hill, so going down to it may be something of a challenge!!! :rolleyes:

Nice shots Tony… Have to say that when i went to Bristol, it was good – a great little airport. Your able to get quite close to the aircraft in some cases. 🙂
