Nice sun at BRS around midday today, once the clouds had moved on. 🙂
Runway 09 was in use, and the taxiway was closed for re-surfacing, so everything was backtracking and so long queues of departing airliners started to form at times.
Here is a selection of approach and line-up shots …

Crop of an iffy shot – but I didn’t want to use yet another “flaring “shot
Cheers,
Phil.

Phil, if you make it a Sunday give me a shout, would be good to meet up and get together with a few crew

Being a sucker for European charters, the Air Europa, does it for me, now when’s our next day out?
To BRS or to anywhere?
Planning a trip to FFD soon – but any resonably bright sunny weekend should do for BRS 😀

Your just never happy are you lba rlz?
Fantastic shots Phil. When I was down at BRS, they were on 27, and we sat with the aircraft literally coming over our head. A policeman came and had a word with us, and told us about a different spot when 09 is in use. I assume this is what he meant!

I really hope they sort Bristol Airport out. It needs a bigger runway and better transport links ASAP!
EDIT: Ooops, forgot to say nice pictures – thanks for sharing!

Fantastic work Phil! 😀

Thanks Phil. Do you need a stepladder and if there are a fair few spotters there, is there enough parking space?
If you want to take pics then I’d say steps are necessary – you’re severely limited if you can’t get up above the fence line.
Parking spaces can be hard to find at times – sunny weekends or if something special is expected. It was very busy around the time COA started flying in!
This shot should illustrate my description a little better – you can see the road that I referred to – and most of the parked cars are hidden by trees on the right of the frame.

Hi Albert – as you can see these are taken from the road that runs around the western end of the runway. On the southern side there is a stretch of the road that is very popular with spotters/enthusiasts and there’s usually a fair few people parked up watching.
You can get to it either via a steep “country lane” type road from the small village of Redhill or there’s a turning from the A38 down to a golf course on the left – that road runs up and around the western end of the runway.
The pics are taken over the fence, with the use of a step ladder.
HTH.

Superb Phil. This is not the first time I have seen shots taken at this spot. Please can you explain how you get there? Also are these over the fence, through the fence, with or without a stepladder etc? Thanks.
