We’ve been sorting out our stocks of AGS spares and have realised (horribly) that we are short on solid rivets for the Britannia G-ANCF (Charlie Fox).
The size we need most of measures 4mm diameter (0.1575″) on my digital micrometer, the length is about 5/8″ or longer.
If anyone out there has stocks – please please please let me know!!
Many thanks,
Roy.

Roy,
There are other issues – is the skin dimpled, or cut countersunk? Dimpled = 120 degree rivets (AS2230) Cut countersunk = 100 degree rivets (SP71, OR use American ones, which are cheaper and set better)
Suppliers – try Barry Parkhouse, who had a shed load of rivets with no paperwork, although that was some time ago.
LAS will have them, but will be expensive – something like 8p each.
Try Clevedon Fasteners, who have always been helpful and also Stone Fasteners – you might be able to persuade them to sponsor you.
Good luck – if you need advise on sizes etc, just holler!

I suspect in the coming weeks we will become very proficient at riveting! 😀

Hi Roy,
Sounds like 5/32″ rivets, but what material and which heads, countersunk, snap head, mushroom head etc?
Alum, solid, mostly countersunk but some dome as well.
do you have rivets there for sale??
Cheers,
Roy.

Try LAS Aero Supplies, they seem to be able to get hold of most consumables… of course it means digging in the pocket a bit….. but at least you know they will be the right ones!
