I read about this story in a local newspaper ;
http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/15299111.Ambitious_project_to_get_rare_World_War_plane_engines_fired_up/
and then looked up their website which shows some very impressive restoration work through a photographic diary ;

It looks like they have 2 engines, one from a Hastings and one from a Noratlas. Neither will fit a Beaufighter. I don’t know the details of why, but I think the earlier engines were quite different in size and shape.

They took the Hercules to Slingsby Keek at Sutton Bank to years ago and ran it a few times.

Fascinating, the is for posting. Do any readers know how many ground-running engines will be at Legends this year? One of my main reasons for going.

I could be wrong but the Herc engine in the attached article photo looks like a post war model, and not an ultra rare wartime model

Hi All,
Thanks for the post Dave :eagerness: So that’s at least three groups looking for the Holy Grail engine parts ‘TFC/Karl Kjarsgaard and this pair, why
don’t they all pool their knowledge together and help each other ? after all each group I imagine will have their strengths and weaknesses ?
But I wish all of them well in their quest as to have four running Hercules (From at least two of the groups)on mass would sound fantastic, and you
can’t take anything away from people like these who are the spirit behind the aviation restoration teams across the globe from the smallest to the
largest activist well don to you all…:eagerness:
Geoff.
