Hey guys :).
This Thursday I will be flying LBA-BRS-DUB-LBA with Air Southwest, Aer Lingus and Ryanair with fellow forum member LBA-EGNM.
We have about a 4 hour stop over in BRS, and I was just wonering if anyone could tell me the best photo spots at BRS accessible by foot? I’ve had a look round the net and found very little.
Thanks in advance :).

LBARULES,
Go to http://www.eggd.co.uk and click on ‘Airport Information’ and then ‘Airfield Viewing Information’. An OS map should appear with some annotations on it.
Unfortunately locations 1, 2 and 4 cannot be reached on foot. However location 3 can be if you’re prepared to walk along the A38 for a bit.
You can see some aircraft parked on stands 1, 2 and 3 from upstairs in the terminal next to Burger King but as you’ll see on Thursday that’s absolutely no good for photography.
There are some other locations that I know that are not listed on that site(probably because they are not ‘approved’ as such).
– The staff car park next to the old terminal building. This provides a great view of a/c either lining up on runway 27 or leaving runway 09. However, to use this location you MUST check with security first. They are situated in the old terminal building, as you go in on the right. They are normally friendly and happy to let you take photographs, but you must check with them first. They’ll be out before you know it if you don’t!
– The gap in the hedge! :p The road that connects the old terminal with the new terminal has a large hedge running alongside it. There are several gaps in the hedge, and you can actually go into it and take photographs of the a/c on the apron.
I have never had any problems using those locations to take photographs, but of course I cannot guarantee that you won’t be moved on.
Good luck and have a great time! 😀 I hope you can share your photos with us!
Regards,
Joe
