Bristol Tychon

British Secret Projects Hypersonics, Ramjets and Missiles mentions the Bristol Tychon (also described as a powered version of the Momentum Bomb).

It was originally to be air-launched but alternatives would have been from trucks or Sea Slug launchers using rocket boost.

According to BSP, Tychon ‘didn’t really appeal to the Air Staff or the Admiralty and lost out to one of those Anglo-French programmes that were all the rage in the early 1960’s’..in this case what became Martel.

BSP gives the dimensions of the Tychon as length 3.6m, diameter 0.48m and span 0.9m, does anyone know what the expected performance figures were to be and how it would have compared to Martel?
