Without commenting on this crash specifically….

Tour and charter flights in less developed parts of the world are a bit riskier than hopping an Airbus/Boeing to Paris…

My sister-in-law was on safari when one of the engines on her King Air decided to quit (pretty rare for a PT-6).
On her vacations she’s constantly flying in GA helicopters and fixed-wing ac going to out-of-the-way resorts and attractions.
Let’s hope that’s the extent of her bad luck.

Plane may have been overweight.

Accident investigators think the plane may have been overweight without giving any further details.

Alan was also a pilot and owned both fixed wing (Cirrus) and helicopter.
Sad news indeed.
