Thought the historic board might appreciate this 🙂

Have just finished Empire of the Clouds. A very sobering read for those of my generation.

Hey Giblets, I bought that book too, looking forward to reading it!

I read about this event in our local paper, wish I had seen this happen. Flown in by Dan Griffith, (What a guy!) Iconic plane from a truly fantastic era, wish we could turn the clock back to 1949?

As for the smoke, someone said on the other thread it may have been paint cooking off, or a gasket gone and exhaust gases escaping? It will look so sexy with a new paint job? I must visit Coventry soon.

In the Video, the port engine nacelle appears to be smoking during taxi. What is causing that?

Fantastic news on this, just read ’empire of the clouds’ (spotted on offer in ‘the works’ bookshop).

What is the chance of getting something like an F.4 in the air (not sure if Argentina would be willing to help/sell one?).
