I just read a post on airliners.net which said that britannia is going to update there 757-200’s with new seats and the 777 style interior. I was just wondering if this was true but also to ask if they are going to update there entertainment system.
i’m asking about the entetainment system because recently flew with them and the entertainment system was playing up at the start and then when it was working two screens weren’t working.

I think it is true, i think the person who wrote it must work for them because it says that he is cabin crew on his profile.
this was what it read“Yeah the new interior is pretty nice, but don’t get used to it as we are installing the new ‘777’ interior on the 75’s from October complete with new leather Recaro seats.
that’s something to look forward to…”
this might be britannia’s new atempt to put themself back into the lead ?
what do you think, i think they scewed britannia when they started changing the name.
maybe I came across the wrong way.
I meant to say that this IS true. But that usualy most of the drivel on A.net is just that, drivel.

as was Britannia before the TUI fiasco.
Care to elaborate on the Britannia ‘fiasco’, using your great inside knowledge of the industry?

Excalibur was a good airline, as was Britannia before the TUI fiasco.

…complete with new leather Recaro seats.
Excalibur used to make a big song and dance about the fact that they had these fitted to their A320’s in the early 90’s.

Apparantly, the new TUi interiors on the certain a/c that have been fitted with them wont be around for long, and the entire fleet will be fitted with leather seats.

I think this was discussed a while back on the forums.
If memory serves a 767 was the first to receive the new interior.
Britannia seem committed to the aircraft they have. It will be interesting to see a 757 with 777 like interior… should make the cabin look quite spacious.
anty101, generally I would take anything said On A.net with a big pinch of salt. Lotta of spotty little oiks there that love to spread rumours. In this case though, they’re not talking a looad of doo doo

i had heard something about this,
They are going to keep there B757-200’s and B767-300’s in service for many more years before investing in any new aircraft so they are going to refurbish them in the new enhanced B767 and B777 style interiors, with fold down tv’s on b752 and possible seat back systems in B763 (only possiblie)

Really? Well Britannia ought to revert to the old livery, drop the Thomson branding and go back to giving their passengers a bit of sustenance! I dont care much about the IFE but I want feeding!
Then pay for your meal or go with another carrier that charges the extra on the ticket price. Simple.
