A middle aged male Australian cousin is coming to visit . Any suggestions for a typically British gift ? All we can come up with is Union Jack underpants and Marmite .Humorous suggestions welcome too , I could do with a laugh .

The dear old soul’s going back to Australia soon,to the place where everything is better and even the Cheezy Puffs taste cheesier. Thanks for all the suggestions,we actually did get him a folding umbrella and I hope he enjoys using it in the rare event that rain replaces the sunshine Down Under.
Funny that. When I was working in Sydney it poured with rain. My colleagues were astonished when I grumbled, claiming that I should be used to it – until I pointed out that Sydney has about twice the rainfall of London.
There are a lot of myths about weather & England.
PS. I didn’t tell ’em that London’s one of the driest places in England. 😉

I had no idea your views were so moderate (!) It’s sad really that his idea’s so distorted – he’s the only bloke I’ve ever met who thinks like that and I know the majority would deplore what he said .

On second thoughts,I think I’ll forget the idea of a present This is because yesterday he expressed the genuinely – held view that women who were raped were ” asking for it “.I gently pointed out that if he said that again he’d be carrying his nuts home in his onboard luggage .
I’m disgusted on behalf of sane men.
The “General View” of ALL men I know is that rapists should be castrated, preferably with blunt knives by angry women that are in prison and in need for some sport.

I couldn’t believe it – no wonder he’s never benefited from the love of a good woman.

Your Granny’s single & on the shelf ? How’s that work then ? Both mine were definitely married or else I wouldn’t be here.

Hubby’s aunties lived to 95 & 98 with all their marbles. Both were single. ‘Nuff said ?
As my Granny (98 and single) always says. “I may have been left on the shelf but I get a good dusting now and again”.
