British Airways plans to add 6% to it’s short haul capacity through the installment of new slim-line BE-Aerospace seating across its short haul network.
As well as providing increased capacity, the new 172 (A320) seating configuration will uniform the fleet as there are currently differences between the A320 domestic, European and BMI cabins.
The airline will likely retain the leather finish throughout, however, the net pitch of Club Europe will go down from 34″ to 30″… How noticeable that change will be with the slim-line seats remains to be seen, although Lufthansa also offer 30″ with their Recaro seats in Business.
As a frequent short-haul flyer with British Airways I hope the new seats don’t compromise on comfort which I rate the current seats highly on.

Daft question but Ryanair seat pitch is 30″, do the slim line seats make a big difference?

Typical BA…trying to raise additional money at the expense of customer comfort and service!
I very much doubt that their prices will be lowered to reflect these changes.
Heck, why don’t they just get rid of the Club Europe cabin altogether and stuff everyone in the same cabin and simply say “Take it or leave it!”?!
What a strange response? not typical BA at all, and you do have a lot of choices as to who to fly with.
If you ever travel BA, First, Club especially, customer service is the best I’ve experienced across many carriers at no comprimise, and yes even in WT+ and WT.
If the BA travelling experience suits you then great, if not go with a multitude of other carriers, AF, KLM, DLH, etc. etc. etc. I’m sure the travelling public will vote with their feet if the cost and product is not what hey want.
