It’s all to do with the ‘Flying Start’ charity set up by BA in association with ‘Comic Relief’ Flight dep LHR 13:00 and returns between 14:00 and 14:30.
The info I have is that Ian Allen only sold a handful of seats, so BA chose to sell seats at a minimum of £100 with proceeds to charity.

Looks like this is now back on.
Can you confirm that? If so, do you know what the arrival time is back at Heathrow?

Incredible how time flies. Just a while back those were brand new and state of the art planes.
I remember the frst time I went into the flightdeck of a 757, It looked like the star ship Enterprise compared to the old helicopters I was used to. Now, compared to a 777 or an A330, it looks aincient!
It is still a good aircraft and I think it was a mistake to stop making it. It’s also the best looking Boeing EVER!!!

Anyone know if it’ll be popping into EDI tomorrow, and at what time?

Let me give you all some history on the Negus & Negus livery….part of the design feature was that one the incorporation of both BEA and BOAC both livery’s were to be incorporated in the new design….hence the halved speedjack of BEA…the blue belly of BOAC and incorporation of the speedbird! much argument was had over the livery by BEA to keep the red wings but this was overruled and the grey wings adapted. What else we must remember was airways was dropped in early 1983 by the then CEO and the bold BRITISH was adopted………….so imho British livery on the last 757 is very approate and historical…..well done BA!

I agree.
I never liked that scheme & still don’t, but the speedbird should be brought back IMO, it’s their callsign after all.
It’s part of the airlines BOAC heritage too!

Nice to see the speedbird logo at the front
