I was thinking exactly the same thing.
I comment often on the state of BA’s 747-400s and would love to be able to fly in something rather less tatty and decrepit.
The A380s are a start but twenty or so B747-8 Intercontinentals wouldn’t go amiss.
Boeing would be able to do a fantastic deal on them, given that they’re not exactly flying out of the showroom.
The tail fin design is different to my eyes, by the way. The red and blue bands seem wider, but that might just be because the 747-400 tail designs are wearing off with age.

apparently when compared to a line up of 747’s the Cargo 748’s Union livery is wider or stretched from front to back.

Did we ever get to the bottom of why the tail design was stretched on this variant of the BA 747?
