Hello Andy.
Any news on the paint job for KB944? You can email me off board if you dont want to post here. I am curious as she was never taken on with a squadron and did wartime service? Wonder if she is going to be painted in her post career colors?

RE: British Canuck?..Update on Lancaster KB944
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-02-03 AT 03:50 PM (GMT)]Hmm thats a toughie LOL
Being biased I would say that out of the 4 lancs mentioned.I would have to say that FM212 is in better shape due to her current maintenences schedule and her engine days over the past few years. Most of the main instrument panels inside her have been restored and she has also had new plexiglass and nav table made and installed.
However, KB882 has to be the most complete intact period lancaster of them all due to the fact that she was parked up and the rcaf walked away from her in the 60s upon her retirement. Although she looks quite a mess inside due to birds and moss etc etc she has all of her internals intact and just needs to get a dedicated team going to restore her into the best post war lancaster airframe in North America.
Some great pics and info here(www.lancasterfm212.freeservers.com)
and this is the site for the edmunston lanc

RE: British Canuck?..Update on Lancaster KB944
Hi Peter,
Sorry but I had been off the board for awhile.. I should have some info about KB944 soon. I have not forgot about your inquiry.
Just got my VHS tapes of “Just Jane” great stuff..with her fast taxi runs and the tail off the ground. I wish I could have seen a taxi run when I visited the centre a few years ago..
Here is a question for the Canadian Lancasters. Of those kept currently outdoors, which is in the best shape? Of the four I think
perhaps Windsor’s(badly fading) and Calgary(new primer) are the most complete..with Edmunston NB looking not too bad(new paint in early 90’s) and Greenwood’s getting new paint a few years ago but just really a shell of an aircraft.
Any options? anyone
