I was thinking about the amount of British designed and built aircraft types that survive as complete examples abroad but not in the UK.
For example
Sopwith 1/2 Strutter. France & USA
DH 4. USA & France?
Fairy III. Portugal
Short Solent. USA
Sopwith Snipe. Canada
Bristol Freighter. Australia
Westland Wigeon (not the eggbeater). Australia or New Zealand
Gloster Gauntlet. Finland
Vickers Wilderbeest. ???
Can anyone think of any others?

“Folland Gnat F.1”
The Midland Air Museum have a single seat Gnat fuselage which,IIRC they have sourced a set of wings for.

Also a Saro Cloud amphimian (G-ACGO/OK-BAK) of the 1930’s in the Czech Republic
The Ciervia C8 G-EBYY at Le Bourget, which I think is the worlds oldest rotorcraft?
Sopwith Triplane in Moscow(yes I know Hendoen has one)
Avro Baby G-EACQ(Hinklers record braker) in Brisbane
DH6 G-EAML wreck in the SAAF museum
DH9 G-EAQM in Canberra

Not totally British but still worthy of a mention the Carvair that still flies around Florida / Georgia USA. Last time I saw it was at Griffin, GA.

“I’m still nice” what am I talking about!?

Ooh…A Ripon…now that would be something!
And as you say a Blenheim would be fab but I’m still nice to have the four Bolingbrokes available in the UK.
We do have a few a couple of Gnat F.1s left though.

Apart from the Gauntlet, which is in flying condition (with an Alvis Leonides engine, unfortunately), in Finland you can find the following British types. Many of them are extinct in the UK:
Martinsyde F.4 Buzzard
Blackburn Ripon IIF
Bristol Bulldog IVA
Bristol Blenheim IV (not a Bolingbroke, which I believe the example at Duxford is?)
Folland Gnat F.1
Plus the less unusual ones:
Avro 504K
Hawker Hurricane I
DH.60 Moth
DH. Vampire Mk.52 and T.Mk.55
Percival Pembroke C.Mk.53
Also, there are substantial remains of a Gloster Gamecock.

Oops…back pedal time. I think the IIID in the Airforce Museum is a replica but the Portuguese Navy have the real thing.

Bristol M.1c in Austrailia (Lots of very good replicas about but C5001 at the Harry Butler Memorial is the only real one left.)

I had forgotten about the Butler M1C. Thanks
I am sure the Fairy III in Portugal is original. The example in Yeolvilton is just a fuselage frame.

Yup the Strutter is a replica.
Airco DH.9 in France (although Guy Black is putting one togeather over here)
Bristol M.1c in Austrailia (Lots of very good replicas about but C5001 at the Harry Butler Memorial is the only real one left.)
Westland Wapiti in India. (Cor would love to see one of these back in the UK)
Must be more but I can’t think of any at the moment.

I thought the Fairy III in Portugal was a very good replica…I may be wrong though
