I wasn’t aware they were getting a new colours scheme! Not bad, a good idia to promote the web site.

Regards Birmingham, theres also a good spot a bit further along from the cargo area behind the tristar hotel, great for views and photography is possible with steps.

Thanks for that. I know exactly where you mean as I used to stand there for hours in the mid 70’s (giving my age away now), I used to love seeing the Viscounts, Comets, Heralds and the BMA DC-9’s.

Do NOT under any circumstances use an NCP car park to watch aircraft or take photos. I done it at Heathrow and some foreign woman wearing an NCP badge told me to leave.

Not to worry though – she was smoking and I told her I wouldn’t move until she put the cigarette out because not only was it demeaning but also very unprofessional.

I managed to get a great shot of the control tower just before I left though… Brilliant!

Yes, I wouldn’t recommend NCP car parks, not only are they a complete rip-off, the staff as you can probably gather are incredibly rude!

The photo looks to have been taken from the old side of the airport as it is know. follow signs for cargo. theres an NCP carpark there and a set of steps on the side of the old terminal building. This site also gives good views of the GA apron and the new apron on the west side of the airfeild. If your there to photograph, a lens of 200mm or more is needed in my apion for smaller a/c such as the dash-8

That is a smart aircraft in a very smart livery. I haven’t been to BHX for ages so can anyone please enlighten me as to exactly where the shot was taken and what the excavations are for in the background?

No its advertising its website like so many airlines now because its internet bookings are up something like 97%,Flybe.com is their URL.

That is quite nice!! And that aircraft is a new DASH-8 isn’t it?? It looks very stretched!!!
