Are there any regular podcast shows available that cover the British scene in warbirds, British aviation history, airshows or aviation museums, like my own Wings Over New Zealand Show?
I’m aware of the RAF Museum’s podcasts which are good but they have not been added to for a long time.
And I also listen regularly to the Xtended podcast but it has very little about Britain’s vibrant warbird community and focuses more on the modern military, space and airline industries.
Lastly I’m also aware of http://www.flyingpodcast.co.uk/ which has a little of this stuff but is large GA focused which is not my interest.
I’m curious to see if there are any shows out there that focus directly on British aviation history, history of the RAF and its wartime prowess, the current warbird scene in the UK and coverage of warbird airshows. Also interviews with pilots, restorers, collection owners, etc. Anyone?

Thanks Errol, I had not seen that airshow podcast before. It does not look to be very current sadly, a bit like the Flying Podcast I mentioned above which seems to have stopped too.
Aircraftclocks, sorry I have not heard that recording with Jim. He’s a good bloke, and still going strong.
Yes I mentioned the RAF Museum’s podcast above, this is the link https://snt151.mail.live.com/default.aspx – I agree James the quality was variable. I think well researched and presented in a way that the average person could understand and learn from it but not a lot of indepth episodes. The one by Richard Todd on the Dambusters was great though.
I’ve long been a devotee of the Voices of the First World War podcast almost since it began, but it’s a bit off the topics I am looking for here.
What’s the link to that Aero Society podcast please? I found it once, lost it again and never managed to find it again.
I’m amazed some of the bigger aircraft museums in Britain don’t do podcasts (other than the RAF Museum who do). They are a cheap and excellent way to get stories out to the public, and can easily be made in-house without having to hire a film company, etc.

The RAF Museum has/d a set of podcasts. Some content was good, but the presentation very variable; the length of each show was all over the place, and they were scripted and mostly read by young women (perfectly adequately) but it came across oddly, as they were obviously voice artists rather than involved people. Maybe just me. That’s the ‘RAF Museum Podcast’.
The IWM have some excellent content as well. ‘IWM Voices of the First World War’ is the one that I know of.
The Aero Society podcast from the RAeS has a couple of episodes with historical content; they’re actually talks/papers, and thus recordings from auditoriums and in the case of the one I’m recommending, backed by a Powerpoint you don’t see. However ‘A Journey Through Flight Simulation’ is very interesting indeed.

Dave, I assume there is some coverage of warbirds at airshows in the UK Airshow Review podcast. Not sure if it is still active?

Dave
I am not trying to hijack your thread but my question is just an extension of yours.
I have been trying to locate the BBC interview with Jim Robinson, when he downed 2 aircraft in one day on the 28th August 1943, while flying in MA402 with 81 Sqn, over or near the Messina Straits.
Any leads to this “podcast” would be most welcome.

I guess the deathly silence here means the answer is “No”?
