During an interview with British Maj Gen Albert Whitley about the level of humanitarian aid and water quality in southern Iraq, I noticed that he had two stars on each collar. They were in addition to other badges on his shoulders which I could not distingush. Now I know that a Maj Gen in the US military is a ‘two-star’ but I didn’t realize that they are also used by the British.
