Just wondering if any of the Airliners are open to the public at Brooklands. Maybe visiting on a Thursday in November. Was thinking of the Viscount, Vanguard, VC-10, 1-11 etc.
Cheers
Jamie 🙂

For Concorde read “always open”
Only times she would be closed would be for essential engineering work which would be published on the websites

I made my first visit there last month – fantastic site and such friendly staff. Unfortunatly ( from an aircraft perspective ) there was a motorcycle event on so most of the airliners were shut – I’d agree that a phonecall first is well worthwhile.

As Archer said (and a good morning to him!!), staffing levels can alter which aircraft are open.
It wasn’t me who said that, but good morning to you too Nik!

I was at Brooklands just yesterday & spent a good day walking round the whole site. Brilliant stuff, highly recommended if you haven’t visited.

Jamie,
On Thursdays the 1-11, Viscount, VC-10, and Concorde are normally open, The Vanguard is open mainly on Sat and Wed ..
(The 1-11 and Concorde read “always” open on Thursday’s!!)
As Archer said (and a good morning to him!!), staffing levels can alter which aircraft are open.
Send Me a PM when You are about to appear and I will see You there..
Regards,

You could always try to give the museum a ring before you go, they’ll be able to tell you on which days which airliners tend to be open. Contact details here: www.brooklandsmuseum.com

The VC-10 will most probably be open, the others are more dependent on staffing levels…
BG should also be open……and worth a visit..the interior display is a success.
