Brooklands 15th April, 2005.

Ladies and Gentlemen.

Just a final reminder that the Launch of Wise Without Eyes, the history of 37 Squadron, takes place at Brooklands at 2pm Friday, April 15th in the presence of Wing Commander Ken Wallis.

I’d just like to thank all those who have supported me since this project started and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day.

follow the link below for further details or if you have any questions.

Thank you,

I don’t get a lot of opportunities to sit down with a book these days, so tonight has been the first chance I’ve had to actually read it. Unfortunately, it’s meant I’ve done none of what I’d originally intended to get done tonight, but in all honesty I don’t mind that at all. It’s a great read, made even better by the style in which it’s written; I almost feel I can hear Kev’s voice narrating it as I read it. That takes some doing. Well done Kev, I’m very proud of what you’ve achieved. 🙂

well I managed the first 90 pages this morning whilst sitting at Lincoln Crown Court (Juror you understand, not defendant!) and must say I’ve enjoyed it very much.. the Bomber Ops of the early war years are often overshadowed by the ‘Lancaster Years’, but its covered nicely here.. what I especially like though is the way the squadrons ops are shown in context with what else was going on at that time… heres hoping I get another couple of quiet days to finish it off!! 😀 nice one Kev !!

With all these words of praise I suppose I’d better start reading it. 🙂

Great day at Brooklands on Friday (apart from the 4 hour journey home – first words to husband on my return home – “where’s the ******* corkscrew?”) Was really good to catch up with some familiar faces, and finally meet some other not so familiar faces – I really enjoyed myself, thank you Kev for inviting me 🙂

Oh and Melv…sod it, the bloody thing’s stuck again…;)

Thanks for the kind comments, most appreciated.

It hasn’t been just me though, far from it. The Founder of the 37 Squadron Association, Frank Sullivan, was instrumental in gathering so much information and research that it made my job a lot easier. Thanks also have to be given to Frank’s wife and daughter for continuing the project and for taking me on board. I just hope that those of you reading Wise Without Eyes who are enjoying it now, are still of the same mind at the end.

Thanks again for all your support and kind comments.

Kind Regards,

kev35

I’m 60 pages in, cracking. Holds the attention even when bombers are not of interest. And Rod was on the phone earlier. Called it a ‘fair old book’ – thats narfik for bloody good. says its written in a way that doesnt make it boring. He’s halfway through already!
