Bri, Its a good idea that Museums publish how to get to them by public Transport as most just give information about arriving by road. In the case of Brooklands until Mercedes Benz World opened no busses ran on a Sunday in Weybridge, this bus servie from Weybridge station to Brooklands Museum I understand has been sponsored by Mercedes. Judging by the number of queries on walking and bussing on this post, might I suggest that the museum’s brochures include such details – if and when they are updated? This applies to all Aviation museums.
The people who run museums, and other public access locations such as theatres in the UK, seem to assume that everybody loves the lump of metal (car) nowadays. Not so…
I gave cars up about 20 years ago, and don’t miss them – except when brochures leave out such information!

THe Vimy will hopefully fly again soon.. So watch this space!!
The photo’s attached are of the Avroplane replica which is being constructed at Brooklands to celerbrate A.V.Roe’s trials in 1908. This replica is being built to airworthy standards and will be taken to some shows later this Year.
The first shot is of the Fuselage looking rearwards with the pilots seat visible
with formers in place during the build.
The second shows the port mainplanes on jigs alinged with the fuselage for display.
Tours of the workshop are available on March 24th 2008

Hi bri
The original entrance into the museum from Brooklands Road is still open 😀 when you walk from the station look out for the museum sign on the right-hand side of the road – don’t worry, you can’t miss it !
Not sure about the price reduction though …
Don’t forget to check http://www.brooklands100.org for events happening at the museum.
Regards
Richard
That’s handy to know as I am planing another visit. As I shall be coming down by train I can’t make the Easter Monday but will be there on the Thursday before.

Does anyone know if you can walk into the museum from Brooklands Road? I would like to visit the museum, but would come by train to Weybridge station.
After visiting with a friend in his car last year, I couldn’t see a pedestrian entrance from that road, and it’s a long way around by the internal road network – and at my creaking age not a good thing!
By the way, I think I saw somewhere that there is a price reduction for Brooklands if you visit the enemy first (Mercedes World 😉 )
