'Brown Force One'

Taken directly from the telegraph.co.uk, a blog by Andrew Porter.

Gordon Brown flies to New York City this evening on, er, we’re not quite sure. The PM usually flies on a specially chartered British Airways 777 or jumbo.

However, it seems BA did not have a plane available. And neither did Virgin, according to Number 10.

So, the PM’s party and travelling press pack will touch down Stateside in a much smaller aircraft, a Titan Airways 757. That’s a new one to me too. Its tail-fin is black with a few stars on and there is not a union flag in sight.

As we waited to board I asked one hack if he had travelled on this plane before (as Brown used it previously for a Pakistan trip). The pressman, who shall remain nameless for fear of being exposed as a terrible snob, looked at the jet up an down and replied: “No I haven’t. I tend not to fly to Torremolinos.”

In fact, in contrast to scheduled, low cost, short hop planes, I can report this plane is very comfortable, spacious, and everyone is super friendly.

Well he should fly on the 757 every time he goes. Infact shove him on FCA’S 757’S he wouldnt last two minutes. Lets hope he buys his own jet (with the tax payers money of course). If he did he wouldnt last any longer as PM

It must be a long walk to Torremolinos…? Typical Telegraph journalism, elitist tosh ! 😀

Boeing 757 in comfortable and spacious shock ! Quite possibly the headline in the Daily Mail’s coverage…:diablo:
