Rain threatened but didn’t arrive whilst I was there. Nice to catch the Alitalia Embraer and the FlyBe!

Yeah, but the car park I’m talking about at BHX is near the old terminal which is probably two miles or so from the current terminals (think of it as if the car park was at RAF Turnhouse in EDI terms). Most times, the car park is empty except for the ground and 1st floors as the old “Elmdon” terminal is now just used by freight forwarders and executive jets. The main car park near the current terminal is MUCH more expensive! 🙁

Parking is pay-and-display £3.70 all day
If only all airport car parking could be that cheap! It’s almost that for only an hour at EDI.

wow great pic Andy! 😀
Well chuffed you got the first flight and that 96.4 brmb sticker (although small) stands out lol, may i ask where you took that? was it those steps by the ATC tower or…..?
Thanks… Taken from the top floor of the multi-storey car park – the car park on the Elmdon side of course! You have to be careful not to get the hangars in the shots, but all of the pics in this topic are taken from there including those on the first page. Parking is pay-and-display £3.70 all day (if you want to be honest!) so its not an expensive place to park if you arrive by road either.

Here’s the very first GermanWings flight from Cologne – service started today. Note the small “BRMB Shuttle” (radio station) sticker on the forward fuselage!

Excellent shots as ever, that Flybe 737 looks SO much better than the one with smaller titles, which looked crap!

The one at Exeter has recently been seen disguised as a Viking MD-80
I have seen a Hola Airlines 733 at Exeter operating for flybe recently, but this is only for a short lease of about 3 months. I think Exeter will eventually have an Astreus 737.
If you look at the ‘b’ in ‘flybe’ on the 737, you can see that at the bottom it isn’t shaped properly!
I’ve heard that although the aircraft are damp leased from Astreus, some of the pilots are actually flybe pilots but are being temporarily employed by Astreus to operate the aircraft.

I never noticed EI-PAT before . Quite an interesting reg for an Irish airline.

Yes, so do I. It was kicking around again this afternoon at about the same time as the first German Wings service arrived from Cologne – more pictures later maybe.
