I know for an absolute fact the other 2 are not being blown up and in fact i was climbing all over them last night 🙂

I was going to say, I hope not, I’m trying to sort out a deal for one of them, with a VC-10 section travelling in the opposite direction.

Not until the sale is agreed as it’s being negotiated at the moment, but i believe it is going to be rebuilt as a fully equipped cockpit (unlike the other 2 which are getting blown up for a movie) as the current owner has amassed a few spares for it already

but as with a lot of brunty stuff, rumour is a plenty and not always what ends up happning

you’ll have to be quick to see the phantom i think it’s going soon

Anyone who hasn’t visited Bruntingthorpe yet… let me tell you, you couldn’t wish to meet a more helpfull bunch of guys. Thanks also to the Buc guy who took time out to show me the Iskra. It’s all appreciated. Hope to get back there in May…

There is a chance I might be able to persuade a friend with a Luscombe to fly in to Bruntingthorpe this year. What are the rules regarding flying in?

Hi, easy one (ish ;)) just drop me a PM when you plan to fly in, give me a few days notice and I will tee it up, and give you the ‘gen’;)

Normally a call to the gate house is whats called for, but as the track is constantly in use, landng on it is not always possible, even the grass strip is in the middle of the track ‘circit’ and when its live you shouldnt really be wandering across it, so special arrangments need to be made, VX927 has found out all about that 😉

Was a pleasant surprise to meet you at Bruntingthorpe today. Thank you for the kind words about the Auster. I really like to photo you’ve posted on the Victor and Auster. Very nice!

No worries mate, good to see the QRA hangar up close, looks stunning with the two Lightnings in there. Certainly noisy, was on the verge of putting my fingers in my ears all the way at the SRA!

I don’t know what advice I could possibly give to any aircraft owner. Maybe place a large sign under the cockpit canopy just stating that the aircraft is privately owned, is regularly cared for, and is not abandoned to its fate. You could maybe even date it and leave a contact number. None of this however will deter the elements that are intent on vandalism (and I’m not talking about UE types here).

Trouble is Creaky would they read the sign, and if they did take note?

Our museum roped barrier around the aircraft, which to me without signs means stay this side of the barrier. With signs which we have there is really no excuse for crossing the lines without an invite. Joe public seems to ignore this more and more frequently these days. So what chance with the UE brigade. As an aircraft owner I worry about people ignoring these rules and the damage they may do. And thats not even mentioning the UE cretins. 🙁

😀 No offence taken. Obviously there are exceptions such as libel ect, just if irritates me when somebody decided to censor for example my post about the robbing swines who were selling bits off the airliners at Cosford…
