Hi all
In reply to a measage left on another thread.
Cold War Jet’s collection, Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire. There will be a full “Big Thunder” type event on Sunday 25th May 2008.The final line up for the day has yet to be anounced, mainly due to the normal problems with trying to source afordable insurance!
We hope to carry out simulated take off runs with the following aircraft:
Victor,
Comet,
Iskra,
Buccaneer,
Lightning(s)?
Canberra,
Hunter,
Jet Provest’s
The static line up will include:
Super Guppy,
Starfighter,
Mystere,
Hunter T-8,
Sea Vixen,
Buccaneer.
Cockpits on display will include:
Victor B.1,
Lightning T.5,
Buccaneer,
Sea Vixen,
Canberra PR.9,
We will have the Super Guppy open to the public, along with as many cockpits as we can man.
We do not know at this time if the Vulcan XH558 will be participating at this time, but I will update this thread as I get more information.
I understand that the event will be advertised in the new Flypast magazine.
If anyone can add information, please do!!!!

I did visit by air in February on a beautiful clear and sunny (but bitterly cold) day when you were dong a couple of engine runs on one of your Lightnings. I just wasn’t sure whether different rules applied for more formal event days.

Is the grass strip likely to be available for visitors by air?
Yep, just call the gate/tower on 0116 2799315, before leaving and let them have your ETA. They will give you a Freq to call up on once in the area

Hi all,
Just to add a little something to Max and Ritches post.
Yes there will be an advert in Flypast spreading the word about the day, as we the LPG do all that stuff 😉

Yes we will be running one Lightning (904) and plan to give her two runs durning the day, probably 11am and 3.30pm.
More details when I know more 😉

We should be opening the SRA Hangar up too Ritch –
2 Beech 18s, 2 T-6s 1 Harvard and a Kettenkrad (all in various states of undress) 😀
