Was it that bad??
Lot of work went into it and only one scheduled aircraft didn’t run..
All organisations seemed to do well..

echo that jb164!
Not that the usual suspects tend to see much of the aircraft!, what with the wheeling and dealing, but I have to admit the Victor run was a might impressive!! ,I actually sat up and took notice! thats first time I’ve seen the Lightnings out done at Brunty, for shear noise and brute power, and yes if I ever jump ship, I’ll be running for the Victor too, looks good, sounds awsome, and just begs for a good spanking. Thats how a Victor should be taxied!! Well done to the new Victor crew.

Well I for one was impressed, bloody impressed, the Victor runs where something else again, well done lads. as a lightning man makes you feel kind a small, if I wasnt so adicted to the Lightning i might just change allegiance. dont panic RMC only joking.
Nice to see 904 start up first time and belt off down the strip with both donkies on full song, some wowk been done there then, well done lads.
good run from the hunter as well.
Felt for the Buck thank God that doesn’t happen to us, well not in public any way.

Well
We went, jaded 40 something and enthusiastic 8 year old.
Didn’t know what to expect but both impressed in our own ways.
Last time I saw a Lightning I was eight and it was at Debden so work that one out!
Haven’t got a clue about the workings at B/thorpe however these were our thoughts:
Something happening from when we arrived until when we left.
Helpful, friendly patient volounteers.
You could touch, feel, smell the aircraft.
Enthusiasm and informality. As one eight year old put it (and this was after a 21/2 hour drive there (and another back) – “the fourth best day out I have had”
He liked the noise, the cockpits the Guppy thingy.
I liked the fact that it was different.
Well done to those involved.
One critiscism, the bacon rolls ran out before we got to the front of the que.

For me it wasn’t so much the event or the organisers, it was the visitors that ruined what was for me a bad weekend already. Still, todays trip to the Royal Artillery museum and the De Havilland museum soon sorted that out 😀

there were a few comments accompanying the photos over on the ‘airshow photo’ threads… for me the highlights were seeing the Comet move under its own steam and the Victor run… got bored and didnt hang around for the Lightning.. thats no reflection on the event or the organisers, just me having seen it before..

I have my comments on my thread with pics in the airshow section, if you haven’t seen it.
