The last batch of my pictures from Bruntingthorpe including XN584 !!

Does anybody know the ID of the Hunter in two halves or the JP nose on the trailer under a cover.

There’s dedication and enthusiasm if ever I saw it? Well done, you are far more braver than I, who was put off by the atrocious weather with non-stop rain across the entire country. Even that farce at Abingdon was cancelled so I felt sure Bruntingthrorpe would be also. However, if they don’t fly, then why should it? Excellent stuff as always and thanks for posting these.

We are devestated! we have spent the last few weeks re-painting our Jet Provost, XN584, and you go and post a pic of Malc’s tatty XN582! Not only do we feel let down, BUT MALC WILL NEVER LET US LIVE IT DOWN!!!!

You just restored my faith, and I can look Malc in the eye again now!
The J.P T-4 cockpit, XS181, belongs to 1084 sqn ATC, and the Hunter T-7, XL565 belongs to Geoffery Pool.

Hi all, just like to second Ritch’s comments, it was a hard day but well worth it, 904 did it for me but Im bias 😀

Heres a few poor shots I got on Saturday with the camera on my phone, when it was a lovely sunny day 😡

First thing Saturday

Our first job was to refit 728’s No2 hatch and bolt her up, then remove the nose jack and tail trestle

Next snag came when we wanted to start towing, our towing arm seized up ! So a strip down and lots of greese was the order of the day.

The SRA hanger is looking fine, well done chaps:)

I would just like to say thanks on behalf of the Guys and Gals that all worked so hard yesterday to produce a very succesfull and enjoyable event under extreem conditions, to all of the members of thr paying public, for showing faith and support by turning up in the awfull weather. It made the event a pleasure to be involved with.

904 was brilliant its quite scary being so close to such an amazing machine with reheat engaged.The 3 buccs together were great too cant wait to 1 day see 900 and 894 as a pairs taxi run it was well worth the soaking 😀

We in the LPG got very wet indeed, abit like the Last Last Lightning show in 87, even my gundie’s were soaked !

We did have a good day on the stall though, all the brolleys went, so thats abit more to the Q shed fund.

Sorry about 728’s no show, we still have alot of fixing to do before she runs in anger again, also sorry about no cockpit tours either, we just couldnt have the canopy’s up.

But wasnt 904 the star turn, we had a moment on the starter crew as the No1 engine didnt want to play on the first press, but on the second go she went, but thats Lightnings :rolleyes:

Dennis gave her a good run considering the tail wind, 135Kts indicated with both burners working a treat, makes the hard work worth while.

The chute got soaked and is now hanging up in my garage drying out, along with all my overalls.;)

Great pics guys – spent most of the time I was there at the Beech Restorations SRA hangar, but still had a good viewpoint of the runs (the amount of spray kicked up was incredible). Didn’t get any photos myself, just a couple of short video clips of the Volpar Beech 18 running as posted earlier.

Left at about half twoish, did the Canberra WK163 turn up either?

Yep, four feet to my left I guess, It was a bloody great day to be honest even with the weather the way it was, after all they are ‘all weather’ aircraft and you have got some cracking shots of them doing what they do best.

Shame the Chinook was a no show but hey:D , As we walked over to 558’s hanger we went over to the QRA shed and had a sneeky peek, that floor is like glass, looks worth every penny.

Does anyone have any thought’s on a membership club?, I have seen threads elswhere on the topic and just thought I would bring it up here, quarterly news letter and a behind the scenes visit once or twice a year would be great.

I am sure that there would be quite a few willing subscribers for a measly 15-20 pounds a year, show of hands anyone?

I was stood on the fenceline taking pictures wearing a green coat, red/white/black golf umbrella and a using a Canon EOS20D and am about 6ft 5 tall.

A great day out despite the weather. Thanks to all those who organised the event.
