Busy day at Brunty, about the busiest I’ve ever been to. Weather started off bright, but then clouded over (typical)! Good to see the Navy Buccaneer back again from Farnborough (this time to stay) also good to see the Mystere back on display. Just a couple of grumbles, they do need to increase the length of the crowdline & get some more food outlets in!

Brian Carroll is a hero! 🙂

Cheers for your kind comments. I have another picture of the Beech in my camera somewhere, I’ll try to fish it out. The Vulcan is still in bits. The Buccaneer is staying put. It will run again but they need spares as apparently they went missing at Kemble & was damaged in transit to Farnborough. Don’t know who owns it. There will be another Buccaneer at Bruntingthorpe soon (XW544), moving in from Shawbury. the Sea Vixen is awaiting parts and one of the team is looking after it has moved on to look after the mystere.

It would be nice to see both Bucc’s doing a taxi run together…
Who owns the Navy Buccaneer ?

Hi
Is the Bucc going to be made taxiable then?
Hope so it has some systems working but it would be nice if it stays in the same place for a while it pops up all over the place ie kemble farnbrough etc.
How are they getting on with the Sea Vixen?
Not sure but they are hoping to do an engine run soon 🙂

Anyone know the latest on 558???
She’s in pieces in the hangar, with work having come to a virtual stand still – the fate of the project lies on the outcome of the re-application for a lottery grant.
There are pictures of her from the weekend here.

It may have just been my grit-obscured eyesight, but i’m fairly sure the hunter actually DID leave the ground on it’s second race with the M3! Anyway a cracking day (but so very, very cold), have to agree about the food vans though – everytime i’ve been I have ended up playing the “can I get a burger before the next taxi run” game. Great pictures StevieB, if any of mine are half decent i’ll post them up later in the week.

Excellent piccies Stevie, thanks for those.Nice paintwork on the Beech 18! 😉
That last Lightning shot is pretty amazing-looks like she’s got one main gear off the ground.Must be the closest a UK Lightning has come to flight in almost 15 years!
