Brunty, best location to see last Ten arrive… WHERE?

Intend to pop down tomorrow to see the last ever Ten flight, where is the best place to get some pictures from?

David, Moravia at Kinloss would have got my vote, they already have a Nimrod, heck they have even brought out a limited edition VC Ten Scotch to celebrate its service, sadly they couldn’t raise the funds to save one, shame its all down to money these days, they forget the Tourism and jobs in the area it would provide, far greater than the cost of the aircraft in scrap value to the UK PLC.

And I totally agree with the comments re Cosford, it that was a double tragedy as it reduced the Survivors by one, had BOB gone to Cosford, then the one already at Brunty was going to be preserved, with BOB going to Brunty, that one succumbed.

Very sad day indeed but the real scandal is that there will not be one at Cosford. If the RAF Museum can’t save a 10 then I guess there is no hope of seeing the Lockheed Tri-motor being preserved. Perhaps I should just be grateful that they at least managed to save one of Lyneham’s finest for future generations to see.

East Fortune back in the old days would have been a good home -oh well!

Sadly David it will probably end up as coke cans I think you will find, it’s a crying shame when the likes of the Moravia collection wanted her, but couldn’t raise the funds. She owes the UK nothing and deserves a better fate.

How many will then be at Bruntingthorpe and what if any will head to Cosford on a low loader?

Over on another forum there is a quoted message saying that “VC10 ZA147 will be making the types final ever flight on Wednesday 25th of September. She will be flying in to Bruntingthorpe at approximately 1230. GJD have very kindly said that the gates will be open for people to view this historic occasion.” so viewing should be easy 😉

When 808 landed they let you in. Can’t see it being any different tomorrow.
