Yesterday afternoon, the air around Bruntingthorpe filled with the sound of Sea Vixen XJ494 undergoing engine runs for the third time in a little under a month.
It’s looking increasingly likely that the Vixen will be undertaking engine runs during the Cold War Jets open day at Bruntingthorpe on Sunday 2nd May.

the new colours was prior to the repaint in 2008 which is now being re-done around the engine work. there are still plenty of loose threads to tie up and a few new ones since 2004 but with the grateful help of T-BAG and a few more constripts we can hopefully make great strides this year

yes a bit rich but FCU still needs trimming down, needed full cx as water had corroded the insides of the fuel metering and p1/p2 cx over valve

She has already been for a little trundle, but not a blast down the runway.
The chances are that the first proper run will be behind closed doors, this will be once all outstanding work has been completed.
Brakes are proving a bit a problem at the moment.:(
