the news is sound, and not really actual anymore.
Brussels airport is only running at half it’s capacity. If the old C-pier would be reopened, Brusels can double it’s capacity. It’s quite rediciulous why verhofstadt was planning to build a second airport of Brussels; for environmental reasons, this would have been impossible. Brussels Zaventem, BRU/EBBR is now, i think, one of the most problematic airports about night noise, or the people that live around it are the ones that complain the most 😀 . About half a year ago, one of the most heaviest discussions in the parliemant started and about each month They release a new route to spread the flights. Now, This week DHL wants to double it’s capacity at Brussels. This has been declared imossible, because there are already too much noise. Well… I wouldnt like a 727 above my house at night, otherwise I would love it:) . they are now in talks with DHL to expand it’s flights either at Liege (Bierset) or at Ostend. Maybne they may expand in Brussels, but their night flights must meet stage 4 noise requierments.
Why are therre so many problmes about this EVERLASTING subject?
