On Friday morning, I set out for Hamburg. Unfortuntaely, I could only get Aisle seats both ways, so I don’t have onboard pics. However, I did manage to do some photographing out the Terminal.
The Aircraft for the outbound flight, EZS1023 was A319 HB-JZK, which was easyJet’s first based Aircraft here at Basel just over a year ago. The Aircraft arrived back from the overnight flight to Istanbul while we were waiting at the Gate, but the turnaround was pretty quick (considering it needed to be refuelled and the easyKiosk restocked for the day).
Here it is after arrival at Ham (note the HLX special c/s, and wingletted CO 752 just pulling onto the Apron in the background)

Welcome indeed!

Anyway, the reason I was in Hamburg was I had tickets to the Italy v Ukraine Quarterfinal. A quick glance around the rather impressive AOL Arena

The following day, I headed back to the Airport for my return flight. Hamburg of course has rather a big Airbus plant, and there’s some stuff on display. Unfortunately, the lights in the terminal provide terrible reflections

Proceeding through Security, I had a look over the Apron, with Lufthansa Regional CRJ700 D-ACPK the first thing on offer.

BA A319 G-EUPL arrived at this point, too

Superb shots – not see keen on the DBA football colour scheme though. But nice to see G-BPEE in there. That was the ship that took me up to Manchester last summer.

You know those wee flags that are EVERYWHERE poking out of Car windows? well some Pilots were obviously not wanting to be left out, as modeled by this Air Berlin 737.

Everyone’s seen those Pele Puma ads? dba are involved in that, too, as demonstrated by F100 D-AGPD and 737-300 D-AGEB:

I was a bit surprised to see that the BA 319 had docked at the same Gate that easyJet had used the previous day, and that, in fact, we were to use later on, too. Note again another of those Flags.

Next to arrive was Germanwings A319 D-AKNU

And then, the piรจce de resistance, Pulkovo Tu-154M RA-85836

the Lufty Regional CRJ from earlier was soon on it’s take off roll

before Air Berlin A319 D-ABGD arrived.

A Lufthansa A300 was next in, unfortunately I didn’t get it’s Registration. ๐

Then, with a 25 minute delay, our Aircraft for the return flight (EZS1026), HB-JZM arrived. the delay was attributed by the flight deck to it being the 1st of July and the first day of the Holidays, so congestion had been inevitable all day (It was a scheduled 18:35 departure).

While we were waiting at the gate, another BA flight arrived, this time 757 G-BPEE, which docked at the gate beside us.

After another uneventful flight back, I was left just wondering one thing…

When did easyJet stop serving slimline Tonic? ๐
Back home at BSL, while walking back to the Terminal, I managed to squeeze off one last shot, Lufthansa Regional ATR72 D-ANFJ
