I’ve a few pics from sunday to share with you. I wanted to get a few shots of her in transit, a loction was found and when we knew she was close we got in to postion and was rewarded with these shots.

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i23/ianfinch_photos/YAM%20museum/IMG_8233a_zpsb75455de.jpg

Then we made a cross country trip to beat 168 to the mus we succeeded.

As you’ve seen it did not take long to unload her with the expertise of the Tbag group. The gear came down no problem as Blue told you the work to get this and the bombay door operating again was more cleaning and greasing than any serious work. All this had been sorted by The TBAG group weeks before the move. In the afternoon she was sitting on her own gear.

I got to check her cockpit out and found a clean and largely intact interior.

The nose was added.

She needs a wash which may have happened by now and various small items put back on, but overall a very nice addition to the museum.

Oh yes a Navy scheme on a Buccaneer. I’m sure it’ll look superb! 😎

Thanks also for the info regarding the u/c Blue2. :eagerness:

Great result.

The new bird makes the paint on the museums existing camouflaged Buc’ look a bit tired, it would be great if they painted her in another scheme, such as the arctic one.

I’ve just asked someone connected with the loading up how much persuading the gear needed to work. To quote the text message he just sent me back:
“A little, was mostly microswitch issues which were overcome and obviously was a bit stiff to begin with. But with a bit of cleaning greasing and exercise it works a treat now!”
So there you go! We build stuff properly in Yorkshire…

I was think the same sort of thing myself JagRigger. Did the u/c just tuck away first time for the outward journey or did it need a bit of persuasion?

She’s not bad at all, better than you’d expect for 2 decades sat next to the Humber! I assume those to be squadron markings.
Cheers Rob! 🙂

She looks in good nick to be honest. What is the significance of the AF on the tail?

The TBAG guys soon had her hooked up to the waiting crane. Here she takes to the air once more

I don’t believe so Peter; we’ll just have to see what happens!
Thought I’d share some pics from the arrival, seems more appropriate to put them here than to dilute our Victor 231 thread any further.
After being delayed leaving Brough due to numpties not understanding the words ‘no parking’, she finally arrived at her new home around lunchtime. First sighting

Turning onto the Airfield industrial estate

Within sight of her new home

She then went onto the airfield in order to turn and get a straight run into the museum, through the access where Lindy and the Nimrod park. Here she says hi to the Nimrod, who’s parked on the QRA pan

Final run in to the museum.

Stopping to greet her 2 sisters already in residence

Before heading off round the back of the hangar to be offloaded.

So is the goal to have all three as runners then?
