Buchon in the Sunshine – 22Apr10

John Romain took the Buchon up just before lunch and after a while, returned with a bit of a display. During the afternoon, he went up again several times doing what looked like air tests. Not many flying shots as it was always in shadows. These are not in order, just cobbled together into a sequence.

Well that lens blows my 100-400 L out of the water.I know i hadn’t got it set up but still nowhere near the clarity you have.

I believe Photoshop may also be a factor in that comparison:

Lovely photos of a great aircraft.

Fabulous set of photos, the eighth is just superb.

All being well I’ll be back in the UK next year – this one will be on my hit list!

Brilliant shots and I like the new paint scheme, it takes me back to seeing Buchons, Casas etc over my school during the making of the film.

Question: why have the wing guns been removed?

I believe the guns were ‘borrowed’ from the other Buchon for the original photo shoot and the guns for this one are in the pipeline.

Nothing High-tec Al.

For ground shots I use a Sony Alpha 350 with a Sony 18-250mm lens, shutter priority for the speed. Flying. I now use a Sony Alpha 450 with a Sony 70-400mm G SSM lens, again SP, and I’ts only the second time I’ve used that combination so still getting used to it and the weight of the lens hence the chopped off wing tip on one of the images .

Were they the ones from the morning or afternoon? i had alot of heat haze on mine taken in the afternoon.

Nice to meet you.

I’ve been taking photos of aircraft since around 1965, and have never managed to take shots as good as these! Absolutely stunning – what gear do you have?
