I’m fairly confident that any type of glue, assuming you can actually make a critical Americium mass, would inhibit the neutron exchange, ie, the chain reaction. Also, I’m pretty damn sure this won’t work unless you utilise some sort of nuclear accelerator / catalyst (nuclear isomers were first discussed in the 1960’s I think). Either way, your probably looking at an explosive yield much lower than 1 kilton, and I guarantee that if it were possible with current technology, practically every 2nd world nation would have a nuke.
This sort of thing is still dangerous as hell, your talking about making a radiological bomb that will make a dirty plume of alpha and beta particles.

Not for me then – I get worried about some people being in charge of the remote control…

“Let’s be honest. The H-bomb isn’t for everyone. Frankly there are people who can’t handle it. They break out in hives at the very mention of mega-death, fallout, or radiation sickness. “

Oh wow these instructions are even better:

Making and owning an H-bomb is the kind of challenge real Americans seek. Who wants to be a passive victim of nuclear war when, with a little effort, you can be an active participant? Bomb shelters are for losers. Who wants to huddle together underground eating canned Spam? Winners want to push the button themselves. Making your own H- bomb is a big step in nuclear assertiveness training — it’s called Taking Charge. We’re sure you’ll enjoy the risks and the heady thrill of playing nuclear chicken.
