Bulgaria to modernize jet fighters
SOFIA: The modernization of the MiG-29 jet fighters is among the highest priorities of the Defense Ministry, the private bTV channel reported, quoting new Defense Minister Veselin Bliznakov.
He emphasized that Bulgaria needed a new squadron of jet fighters, which should include 20 aircrafts like F-16, F-18 and Gripen. Bliznakov assured that he would bring forward the question as soon as the Political Cabinet of the Defense Ministry is formed. MiG-29 was among the aircrafts which Bulgarian pilot flew during the international exercise Co-operative Key 2005.
