I was going through and old Flypast from 1994 and there was an article about 30 Luftwafe aircraft buried in the sand beside a runway at an airfield in Norway. There was photographic proof showing a Ju88 being dropped into the pit which also contained JU52’s and 188s as well as some 109’s.
Does anyone know what the outcome of this dig was??

This sounds like an easier recovery than many of the ones in the last 10 yrs in Norway, they are very clued up there and would have got to it by now I’d reckon
There’s not much here in Norway that’s not known to them in the know!;)
cheers,

I remember about a dig that sounds similar in Norway, that when the area was excavated it was found the aircraft had been burned and lots of components were recovered, not sure if this is the same though
