Buried Sea Otter remains.

When I was stationed in Malta c1971 I used to fly my freeflight scale models on Ta’kali airfield and on one visit my attention was drawn to some to a number of partially buried aircraft stainless steel wing spars (parallel with braced bays between compression ribs, slight sweepback). I tentatively identified them as Sea Otter and I’m sure that ID was good by subsequently checking some drawings. Does anyone know if they were ever recovered?
