Strange that nobody mentioned it but I read in the latest A***** M**** that during December 2004 a British party left for Burma/Myanmar to look for the long rumoured buried Spitfire cache at Mingeladon. It was mentioned that there are about six to 12 Mk XIV’s.
Several years ago this was brought up already.
Now that would be something if it was true, wouldn’t it?

No secret.
The word on the street is that they have not been located as yet and until they do you would imagine they will play their cards close to their chest. I would.
This has been ongoing for about five years. 🙂

In Oshkosh I have seen the remains of a Spitfire that I was told is one of the Israeli Spits sold to Burma in the late 50’s.
I cannot remember if it was in 1999 or 2003.
I think the owner was British
It will be interesting to know if any more of these Spits has survived
