A very parochial notice for those U.K. forumites living within easy reach of mid-Hertfordshire and who need a free Spitfire fix on Bank Holiday Monday. The village of Burnham Green – situated between Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage – is holding it’s annual festival (i.e. village fete). Each year they have an aerial act sourced by local lad made good, John Romain. This year the posters are proclaiming a Spitfire will appear, and the pic on the poster is of a 2-seater with a ‘Q’ in the codes.
Festivities start at 14.00hrs, don’t know when the Spit is due.

As someone from the next village (where John Romain went to junior school), I can tell you that the Spitfire on the advertising is rarely the same as the one that turns up, but who cares as long as it’s a Spitfire.
